The Consumer Forum officially joined the apolitical educational campaign "Women for Elections" as of September 14. The goal of the "Women to the polls" campaign is to encourage women to actively participate in elections. After all, every vote matters, and in every election - whether local, parliamentary or presidential.
What connects the Consumers Forum Foundation and the "Women for Elections" campaign is building an engaged community that is not indifferent to reality. Consumers/women support or undermine given products/services/brands every day with their cutouts according to the philosophy of , "my wallet is my vote", i.e. they vote with their wallets. Citizens/females, on the other hand, have the right and privilege to vote once every 4 years in parliamentary elections, and both of these elections can act as a feedback loop, as politics also affects the economy, and the quality of the economy always translates into the consumer's wallet.
The goal of any action taken by the Consumer Forum is first and foremost to focus on consumers, but during elections the line between consumers and citizens is extremely thin, because whoever influences the formation of the law and the economy will also impact the wealth of the consumer's wallet.
As a Consumer Forum, we remain apolitical on this issue of choosing a particular political option or candidate ourselves. However, we want to support and promote active participation in initiatives that build civil society and encourage consumers/citizens to take action, including participating in elections. For the right to vote is a great privilege for each one of us, which is worth exercising.
